Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 Quart of milk
  • 6 Egg yolks
  • 6 Tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon of Dixie vanilla

Directions

  1. Put one quart of milk on to boil in double boiler.
  2. Beat together the yolks of 6 eggs, and 6 tablespoons of sugar.
  3. Stir mixture into boiling milk.
  4. Cook about a minute, stirring constantly.
  5. Strain it.
  6. Allow to cool.
  7. Add 1 tablespoon of Dixie Vanilla to the beaten whites of eggs.
  8. Freeze.
