Tomato Sauce


Ingredients

  • Tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 onion

      Directions

  1. Scald tomatoes by rubbing them through the sieve making 1 pint of juice.
  2. Beat together the butter, a little salt and pepper, eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  3. Soak in a tea cup of milk and onion that has been thinly sliced
  4. Stew over a slow fire for 1 to 2 hours.
