Lemon Cream Layer Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup of Butter
- 3 cups of Sugar
- 3 cups of Flour
- 6 Eggs
- 2 Lemons
- 2 tsp. of Dixie Baking Powder
- 2 cups of Sweet Milk
- 7 tbsp. of Cornstarch
Directions
Cake
- Mix one cup of butter, two cups of sugar, three cups of flour, four eggs and two teaspoons of baking powder.
- Bake the mixture in four layers.
Filling
- Lightly beat two eggs and one cup of sugar together.
- Boil two cups of sweet milk.
- When the milk comes to a boil, stir in seven spoonfuls of cornstarch wet up in cold milk
- Stir in the eggs and sugar into the mixture and let it cook for a moment.
- Pour out in a dish and flavor with the juice and grated rind of two lemons.
- Spread the filling between the layers of the cake.
