Corn Bread

Ingredients

  • 1½ Pint of rich buttermilk
  • Cornmeal
  • 1 Teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1 Cup of milk
  • Salt
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Thicken buttermilk with cornmeal to the consistency of batter.
  2. Dissolve soda in cup of new milk and add to mixture.
  3. Add a little salt and beat very light.
  4. Pour this into buttered pans.
  5. Bake for two hours.
  6. Serve hot.
