Pain Noir

Ingredients

  • Two quarts of flour
  • Half a cup of syrup
  • Tablespoon of sugar
  • Tablespoon of butter
  • Small package of yeast
  • Tablespoon of salt
  • One cup of water

Directions

  1. Mix sugar and salt into flour.
  2. Dissolve the water into the flour mixture.
  3. Then add the yeast.
  4. Melt the butter and add to mixture.
  5. Add two cups of water, one cup of milk.
  6. Turn the mixture until the bottom of bowl is clean.
  7. Leave the mixture in a warm place to rise overnight.
  8. In the morning turn the dough two to three times and then divide into portions.
