Ingredients
- 1/2 cup of yeast
- 1 tablespoon of salt
- 6 cups of milk and water mixed
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 4 cups of buckwheat flour
Directions
- Take a large mixing bowl and mix the buckwheat flour, yeast, salt, and milk/water mixture until it is mixed thoroughly.
- Pour the mixture into a tall jar. Tall jars make the mixture rise better than if it was in an open bowl.
- Let it sit until the next morning when they are to be cooked.
- Before cooking add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the mixture.
- Fry in a well buttered or oiled skillet until brown.
- Serve with syrup or honey.
